Summer Camps, for 7-12 and 12-16 years
“I never knew you could make electric inside paper, and you make the paper move!”
“I got to learn how to make a robot…I loved everything!”
– Participants from the 7-11 summer camp, 2015
Our hugely successful Summer Camps take place for one or two weeks during the summer holidays. Tailored for curious and inventive minds, both camps run for 5 days and develop participants’ understanding of and skills in coding, programming and product design.

“Fantastic set of activities – kept two hyperactive toddlers enthralled for the best part of 3 hours. Utterly brilliant!”
– Dad of two mini-maker participants
A series of workshops for 3- 7 and 7-12 year olds. These activity sessions create opportunities for little ones to get hands on and have a go of something new and exciting that will spark creativity in science and tech.
Mini Makers sessions take place during the school holidays and sometimes on a Saturday; so keep your eyes peeled on our programme page. We can also offer visiting groups mini-maker activity sheets, complete with fun facts and activities – just request them when booking in your visit.
Previous Mini-Makers sessions have included:
- BOM fellow Laurie Ramsell showing participants how to use and create space inspired structures with 3D pens
- Creating live digital art using projectors and spy cameras with artists Anna Horton and Sophie Bullock
