Here’s the invite for the private view for the JHB Archive show on September 10th. Curated by BOM fellow Jo Gane it sees 25 arts interpreting the archival record of a lost Julian Henry Beck sculpture.
Please spread this around and come along!
And here’s the brief from the original call for submissions:
In 1961 Nuneaton Museum purchased a sculpture by Julian Henry Beck, an artist, engineer and photographer. This sculpture has since gone missing and all that remains is the truncated accession record. Artists are invited to produce a version of this sculpture in any media based upon the information that has been recorded. This may take any form and could also be based on more ephemeral elements of the sculpture such as what it would sound or smell like.
