Visitor Experience Assistant
£8.50 per hour, 22 Hours per week
We’re looking for a happy, energetic and proactive person who loves talking to people. Curious about art / technology / science (or all three!), you’ll be no stranger to multi-tasking, and live much of your life online whilst going about your day-to-day.
You love having conversations with strangers, and making connections. You spend (way too much) time searching the internet for interesting stories to share.
For this job you’ll be comfortable chatting to people in the gallery one minute, and diving into a lively conversation over social media the next from the gallery pod. You’ll have excellent communication skills and a razor sharp attention to detail.
The work we show at BOM, and that of our Fellows, is often risky and experimental. New digital stuff almost certainly breaks, and there’s no roadmap for a lot of the engagement work we’re doing. Which means, as a team, we’re all working it out as we go. As the front face of everything we do, we’re looking for someone who is open-minded, able to spot and respond to problems and loves having mind-bending conversations.
Joining our small and passionate team, you’ll need a heck of a lot of energy and good will. This is the perfect opportunity to gain experience in a unique space championing experimental work that has real social impact.
