Now Play This!.. at home

This weekend Somerset House brings online, their Now Play This! festival. The newly virtual festival unites a creative community of makers to explore playful and participatory ways to bring people together through games and play. BOM is all about playful and experimental art and experiences, and we’d like you to cast your mind back to Hacked! Our accessible gaming exhibition at the end of last year. One of the standout exhibits, Mood Pinball* was devised and put together by BOM fellows, Ben Neal, Edie Jo Murray and Harmeet Chagger-Khan, and it was due to be at Somerset House for this weekend’s festival.

The festival kicks off at 2pm this afternoon, and carries on over the weekend (4-5 April) Featuring virtual field trips and an improv comedy game design class, to something that sounds baffling to those of us not currently playing Animal Crossing, the art critics The White Pube will be boarding a Dodo Airlines flight to Animal Crossing for a chat with the creators of Untitled Goose Game, House House. We’re in, see you there!

*Mood Pinball was Originally Commissioned by ODI Data as Culture and made in partnership with the University of Southampton Data Stories project.
