I am an advocate for more inclusive and accessible technical education and for access to meaningful work in technology. I have worked with Birmingham Open Media to create and deliver free and low cost educational programs and resources for current and aspiring technologoists. This has included the development of podcasts, written tutorials, in person events and live online experiences. This work builds on an existing collaboration with BOM and the local tech community, including the Open Code meet ups, within which I have been running language agnostic programming study sessions weekly, since 2014. These collaborations will help to further build technical skills into BOM’s base of Fellows and the wider west Midlands. I am interested in working more closely with organisations and institutes that are currently leading in the provision of technical education at low or no cost to learners, as well as individual tech and art talent to collaborate with on educational content.
