I am Artistic Director of The Other Way Works, developing work where theatre meets new technologies with the aim of creating magical, immersive experiences. We integrate games, technology and immersive experiences with site-specific performance. In this role I develop new concepts and direct the creative processes and productions.
I am also a (remote) resident of Watershed’s Pervasive Media Studio, a regular speaker at conferences and events, a visiting lecturer, and a producer of professional development programmes.
A recent interview with me about my work with The Other Way Works for the Hack Circus Podcast can be found here – https://hackcircuspodcast.com/2019/07/03/katie-day-making-innovative-theatre/
In 2019-2020, I will continue to collaborate with (BOM Fellow) John Sear to tour our production ‘A Moment of Madness’. This project pioneers exciting new ground in the areas of digital technologies and interactive performance, bringing together immersive theatre and real-world, puzzle-based gaming in a way that I have never seen done before.
I will also be developing a new production: ‘Afterlife’, which explores memory from creative and scientific angles, taking the format of a residential retreat for a group of participants.
