In 2020-21, with The Other Way Works, Katie is developing a new production: ‘Afterlife’.
If you could only take one memory with you into eternity, what would it be?
Afterlife is inspired by the 1998 Japanese film ‘After Life’ by Hirokazu Kore-eda, in which the recently departed are challenged to select just one memory of their whole life to bring with them into eternity.
Weaving Japanese philosophy into cognitive neuroscience, Afterlife aims to offer an enlightening yet playful encounter with memory within a unique interactive format. Participants will choose one memory to take with them into the afterlife – in doing so discover what they value most in life. The final production will be a ground-breaking residential immersive theatre and creative retreat experience.
