A MOMENT OF MADNESS
May 14, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
A two-day workshop for artists and makers interested in fusing theatre with collaborative gaming and new technologies.
Artists & BOM Fellows Katie Day and John Sear will share learning from the process of making new work A Moment of Madness, a new immersive and playful theatre experience which sees audiences thrust into the heart of a political spy thriller.
The workshop will include exploring the elements of immersive, playful performance:
Creating a new ‘scratch’ of a mini immersive, playful performance sharing ideas, practice and developing a critical voice.
This will suit artists and makers at any stage in their career – be it student, emerging or established – with an interest in interactive forms of performance, new technologies, and participatory and/or immersive audience experiences. In order to provide some context for the workshop, participants will have the option to attend a dress rehearsal of A Moment of Madness on Thursday 2nd May 2019 (the performance run is already sold out).
Refreshments (tea/coffee etc) will be provided.
Please bring your own lunch, or there are plenty of lunch options locally including BOM’s own cafe.
Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with Birmingham Open Media, Sir Barry Jackson Trust, John Feeney Charitable Trust & Unity Theatre Trust.
Tickets are £32.57. To book, click here
