Art and Tech Social: Music Memory Box
November 15, 2016, 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us for local food and drinks from Southside and get hands-on making with a bunch of like-minded folks interested in art and tech. This new monthly event aims to inspire emerging creatives and offer peer-to-peer tech support in a friendly, collaborative environment. Each workshop is different, featuring a different guest speaker and activities.
15th November 2016 – ‘Music Memory Box’, led by Chloe Meineck (@chloemeineck)
Chloe Meineck is the founder of Studio Meineck, an award winning design studio, which specialises in designing with people rather than for people. She works closely with charities, academics and arts organisations, facilitating workshops with a view to giving a voice to vulnerable groups in society. Chloe developed her specialist approach to co-design on a number of design, craft and technology residencies, working in partnership with organisations such as the British Council, Design Museum, Crafts Council and KIITO in Japan.
Chloe will start the evening with a talk about the studio and about Music Memory Box, a personalised, multi-sensory tool for reminiscing and Trove, a self curated and narrated treasure chest for children’s most precious things.
After the talk and questions, participants will break out into small teams which will be given a social issue (e.g. loneliness in the elderly), an output (game, app, product, wearable tech) and a word to incorporate into their idea or process (e.g. reflection, scale). Ideas will be prototyped the idea in paper and cardboard
