MakerMonday is an exciting regular Monday workshop that aims to foster creativity with digital technology.
Each event will focus on a particular theme and feature a leading speaker who will deliver a short introduction followed by a two-hour workshop. The sessions will be held in the evening of the final Monday of each month at BOM, with the first event planned for 18/05/2015 (due to the bank holiday)
A maker workshop is an event where people with a range of skills in media, technology, engineering and art will come together to collaborate on projects. The focus is one of innovation and openness, allowing people to test ideas and develop prototypes that could have wider impact on society.
The MakerMonday workshops will aim to be accessible, with a focus on approachable technologies such as codeless programming. Each session will start with a speaker who will discuss their field and some of the challenges they face. Attendees will then be invited to spend the rest of the workshop collaborating to conceptualize or build devices that address these challenges using technologies such as Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, MakeyMakeys, etc.
We provide beer and pizza to help keep those ideas flowing.
